New Rock Edge: Episode 10: Presence Of Phobias Playlist
Hey Every1!
Thanx for bearing the 25 minutes of technical difficulties prior to the show. Apparently after loading all of my songs to the USB it disappeared when I went to play them and I had to re-catch them all. Then after loading a good chunk of them on, some of the songs still disappeared and I had to use a friends USB to put them missing ones on and then we started the show. So yeah, technical difficulties on my part. My bad. Speaking of Technical Difficulties, make sure to tune in to the actual show on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 pm for all your favourite chill instrumental trakx. However, now I'll get back to the overall summary of last night's show.
Last night the topic of the show concerned about Phobias and how they are implemented into rock music and how many there are in the world we live in. Whether it's something common such as claustraphobia (fear of small places) to something ridiculous such as hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia (the fear of long words...ironically) and how people are affected by them minimally or maximally.
We showcased some celebrities and what kinds of phobias they have as well as phobias in songs and how they got there. Examples include Brandon Flowers of the Killers who is not only afraid of aerophobia (fear of flying) but also the number 621 (for these purposes we'll just call it "621phobia"). Another example would by Benjamin Burnley of Breaking Benjamin with his phobia of flying, driving, getting sick, the dark, and basically anything that would cause you to die if you chose to do something and lead to death by chance. The show was divided into 5 segments and let's take a look at what they are:
Fear
1. Disturbed - Fear
2. Muse - Hysteria
3. Three Days Grace - Scared
Paranoia/Panic
4. Linkin Park - Papercut
5. Silversun Pickups - Panic Switch
6. Green Day - Basket Case
Songs About Phobia
7. Incubus - Agoraphobia --> Fear of open spaces (you won't believe how many celebs have this!)
8. Alice In Chains - Them Bones --> Thanatophobia (fear of dying)
9. Chevelle - The Clincher --> Claustrophobia (fear of small spaces)
10. Shinedown - Sound Of Madness --> Fear of confrontation
11. Bullet For My Valentine - All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me) --> Necrophobia (Fear of loved ones dying)
Artists With Phobia
12. Radiohead - Airbag --> (After a terrifying car crash in 1987, Thom Yorke has had motorphobia, a fear of cars, and never drives in them. The song "Airbag" was written as a result of it)
13. The Killers feat. Lou Reed - Tranquilize --> Along with aerophobia (fear of flight) he is afraid of the number "621" because when he was a child he played with a Oujia Board and it told him he would die by the number "621". Conversely, in calendar life, this number translates to "June 21 (06/21)" which is also his birthday. He doesn't like to travel anywhere as a result...I think we now know the reason why).
14. My Chemical Romance - Cancer --> Gerard Way has two phobias: Trypanophobia (fear of needles) and Bathmophobia (fear of stairs)
15. Breaking Benjamin - Evil Angel --> Benjamin Burnley has a ton of phobias as mentioned from above. The show was actually inspired by their third album "Phobia".
Facing Phobia
16. 30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill (Bury Me)
17. Staind - Reality
With that all said and done one has to only wonder how many other phobias exist, why they sometimes repeat themselves, but most importantly what kind of phobias do we have? I can definitely say I have Cynophobia (fear of dogs) and a kind of social phobia where I can't ask for help. But the first step to overcoming these fears is to admit it to yourself and the world so that they can help u really. So, what are your phobias? If you don't know your own phobia, what's your favourite phobia?
Well, that's it for me but make sure to tune in next week for some more new rock music!

Thanks for expressing your ideas with this blog. Likewise, a fable regarding the finance institutions intentions if talking about foreclosed is that the lender will not take my installments. There is a certain amount of time that this bank can take payments in some places. If you are very deep within the hole, they will commonly demand that you pay that payment in full. However, i am not saying that they will have any sort of payments at all. Should you and the financial institution can find a way to work anything out, the actual foreclosure approach may halt. However, should you continue to miss payments under the new plan, the home foreclosure process can just pick up where it left off.
Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. But think about if you added some great photos or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this site could undeniably be one of the greatest in its field. Terrific blog!
Your location is beneficial for me. Thanks!-
I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100% certain. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
