The Global Underground: Australia/New Zealand

Author: Jeremy Zwygers
I come from a land down unda!  ...well, not actually...

And what’s with Aussie’s and their vegemite anyway? From what I’ve heard, it really doesn’t taste that good… but I guess I’ve never tasted it so I shouldn’t judge… that and kangaroo jerky…  WTF, mate?!

But anyway… what a great show last week! This post comes a tad late but, thanks for listening last week and hopefully you liked some the music from Australia  AND New Zealand that I picked out… and if not, that’s just too bad.

Also, I completely forgot to give a shout out to “Summer Heights High” on the show!! One of the best mockumentaries ever... Chris Lilley is the funniest thing out of Australia since this kid, and his show ‘Summer Heights High’ is hilarious… watch it if you can! Get a taste of it here, here, and here.

For a complete tracklist from this show as well as past shows... check out the Global Underground facebook group HERE.

Be sure to listen this thursday for the NEW YORK CITY show... It's gonna be off the hoooook!!!

Yes! That’s exactly right… It was my grandparents, actually, who came to Canada from the Netherlands in the 1940′s and changed the name so it was easier to pronounce. Yet, I’m pretty sure ‘Zwijgers’ still isn’t a very common name… is it possible that we are related?

No, your actually from the Netherlands I think, changed your name from Zwijgers to Zwygers to make it pronouncable in the broader world.
