Em’ scraps Relapse 2 for New Album Recovery

Eminem has been workin hard in the studio for the past year and has decided to scrap his uncoming album ‘relapse 2′, the follow up to the (lets be honest, let down) album relapse. Hes been working with artists like drake and producers like Boi-1da and of course dre on this new album and he says the new tracks have a different feel and deserve their own album (hopefully by ‘new feel’ he means less of that goofy accent he used on every track on relapse). The first single for Recovery is called Not Afraid and is a much more serious and raw look back on the past few years and coping with is recently overcome drug addiction. Download it online and be sure to cop Recovery when he drops later this year.

All Cover Hour on Hits and Hidden Gems

Sup all,

Hope you guys enjoy my latest show. I didn’t get much sleep sunday night but it work out pretty good for you guys cause i ended up going on a hunt for hidden gems at 3 in the morning and deciding to make a all cover show, where all my hidden gems were covers. Hope you guys enjoyed it. I already got one request to see that video for the Dan Black feat Kid Cudi song, Symphonies. Check it out here. The videos actually pretty cool and the song is dope so i recommend you check it out.

If you missed out… that sucks for you cause it was a sick show. We heard some pretty sweet otis redding and bob dylan covers, from artists like the black crows to even rage against the machine. My favourite has to be chris cornell’s cover of michael jackson’s billie jean, if you never heard it, check it out immediately, it is not at all what you expect.

Hopefully you guys enjoyed some of the covers and feel free to message me if you cant remember the name or artist or are having trouble finding it online.

Love,

Sean Harrison

Lil’ Wayne – Revolutionizing rap or ruining it?

It seems to me artist like lil’ wayne and 50 cent seem to split rap fans down the middle. Though there’s no doubt they brought something new to the table and changed the industry, is it for better or worse? Personally I like lil’ wayne, he is definitely a hard worker and constantly making new tracks. He puts out a lot of awful music, but he makes so much of it that good tracks surface every once in a while.

Today on my show I asked whether you think Lil’ Wayne is the great free styler he claims to be. I’ve seen him claim that he never writes anything down, and that he free styles many of the tracks that go right on his albums. Joining the ranks of other rap legends like biggie. But I’ve also heard rumours that he gets other rappers on young money to write for him. Someone even told me that drake wrote a lot of the rhymes on ‘tha charter 3′. What do you guys think?

How Do I Get My Hands On One of Those Niffty Hidden Gems You Play On Your Show?

Hello fans,

If your asking yourself that very common question: How Do I Get My Hands On One of Those Niffty Hidden Gems You Play On Your Show? Your answer is here.

Drop me a line. Send me a message right here on my blog and leave me your email and Ill be happy to send it to ya. I’m not gunna post the name of every song I play on air unfortunately (it just takes up to much room on my bloggisphere) but just try to remember the artists name (I tend to announce them before and after the songs) and Ill be happy to send it right over.

Also, last week we had a hot topic about who is going to be more famous down the line, IllScarlett or Down With Webster? care to weigh in on the issue?

IllScarlett is no doubt more famous currently. But some could argue after two studio albums compared to Down With Websters 1, they may have to look out for the up and comers DWW. Regardless of who you think, this isnt a forum to bash either artist, they are both among my favourite groups and I urge you both to come back to Laurier. Immediately. Now. Do it.

Love,

Sean Harrison

It started out as a EP about the struggles of the people in Africa and poverty but eventually evolved into a full length album. The album is reported to drop April 20th. Download the singles, but if you like the music go out and support your artists by buying their cds.

Sean’s DJ Name Challenge/Hidden Gems for February 1st

Sean is officially on the look out for a dope DJ name. To give you guys something to work with, my full name is Sean Brian Harrison, my nicknames have been sh (not like shushing someone but like saying the letters), half cup harry and harry. Some of the terrible suggestions I’ve heard so far include, DJ harrysongs, DJ harristotle, DJ Harrysissle, Bri Guy, and DJ Harrysean.

So come on people, put your thinking caps on and brainstorm some DJ names, all suggestions will be considered. This is your chance to give me a name that will hopefully stick with me through the ages.
