Studying for the Attention Impaired
Hey everyone, Liz here from Noise Pollution! Just got to the map library, after having a study pitcher at Wilf's!
Anyway, I created a solid playlist that I hope you all enjoyed for studying purposes. There was a definite science to the composition of this playlist too. I don't know about you, but I have a very short attention span so this playlist was catering to those who have similarly minimal attention spans. The science behind the playlist is having clearly defined sets. Each set of 4-5 songs follows a simple process:
Song one - Must be a pump up song, solid beat, to get you motivated to actually do work
Song two - Must have a similar beat, or energy to maintain the motivation but has to be slightly mellower or else you'll get too pumped and lose focus
Song three/four - Can be mellow so as to provide some background noise in the peak of your concentration. Don't pick something you want to sing along with or you'll get distracted (No Adele!)
Song five - Another pump up song, because by now your attention has diminished and you need to be re-energized a bit before you take a 5 minute colouring break. Maybe even use this song as your colouring/crossword break.
Here was the playlist from today, which is comprised of 4-song sets according to the above laws of studying (be warned it's a little Shad/Macklemore/Feist/Cudi heavy):
"The Boogie That Be" - Black Eyed Peas
"We, Myself and I" - Shad
"The Ghost of Genova Heights" - Stars
"Up All Night" - Drake ft. Nicki Minaj
"Kids" - Chiddy Bang ft. MGMT
"When The Music Stops" - Eminem
"The Bad In Each Other" - Feist
"Little Bird" - The White Stripes
"You See Me" - Childish Gambino
"Vipassana" - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
"Countyline Division Road" - Sarah McInnis
"Man On The Moon" - Kid Cudi ft The Postal Service
"Valerie" - Amy Winehouse
"Neighborhood #2 (Laika)" - Arcade Fire
"Squealing Pigs" - Admiral Fallow
"Dance, Dance, Dance" - Lykke Li
"Crew Cuts" - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
"Erase Me" - Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West
"Jasper" - Aidan Knight ft. Dan Mangan
"Vagabond" - Hey Ocean! ft. Shad
"Seven Nation Army" - The White Stripes
"I Don't Like To" - Shad

Morning Show Music Video Premiere!
Hey Radio friends! Your favorite Disk Jockey here, Lunkis! What the heck is a disc? Hell if I know!Anyways, today something incredible happened. The stars were aligned, there was a meeting at stone henge, the Bermuda triangle was temporarily a square... I'm pretty sure some other spooky and mystic things happened today that I can't talk about but they've all come to this... The release of the OFFICIAL Morning Show rap! We premiered the song today at 11, but if you missed it feel free to check it out on YouTube!
Also, today TBA and I discussed the very serious issue of Geese attacks on campus. Did you know 23 of 60 students are attacked by Geese on a monthly basis? Okay just kidding, I made that up. But if you'd like to know how to defend yourself from an attack by one of these bloodthirsty creatures, check out this link.
In other news, Vince did some gear grinding at his now one in twelve Roll up the Rim Ratio. Did you know that Americans can now dip into our prize pool? Poor Vince. You can see his face of pure defeat right here.
We also played, I'll admit, one of my most clever tripleshots ever! (Though tripleshots of music don't happen that often.) We had Smashmouth's "Walking on the Sun", The Police "Walking on the Moon" and then Walk off the Earth. Get the theme?
EDIT: I was actually wrong in declaring the end of the Morning Show! We're back for our last show this Monday, so be sure to tune in!

The Gracious Katlina Cowan – 28/03/12
Hey there Goldenhawks, Lunkis here with a little Morning Show update First and most importantly Skandy, Scotty and I had the pleasure of speaking with London blues musician Katlina Cowan, of Katlina and the Gracious today! Katlina definitely brought a large degree of musical talent to the show today, leaving all of us speechless after her on-air performance. Seriously, you need to check her out. Katlina will be performing tonight at Maxwell's Music House if you're interested (and you bloody well should be!)
Also, Skandy gave his review of The Hunger Games film! His impression? It was freakin' unreal. This film has broken a number of records on it's opening day, and definitely something worth checking out. You can watch the trailer right here!
Anyways, that's all from me! Make sure you check us out on Twitter, @RLMorningshow, and on Facebook!
