Hillside with Anne: Day 1
So it may be three days after the magic ended, but I'm still living in a state of Hillside bliss: playing music by featured artists, sharing tales with whoever will listen and attempting to bring inside jokes from the festival into my day-t0-day life. Welcome to the comedown. But instead of waxing poetic about how I wish it was approximately 72 - 96 hours earlier, I'll simply give you a recap. After all, that's what professionalism looks like, right? (Right.)
So may I present: Hillside Remembered. Two to three installments of awesome that will describe the radness of the festival and all that it embodies. (As well as the anecdotes that have resulted in laughing-out-loud while alone in my car or walking through the grocery store.)
Friday:
After fueling up on sushi, coffee, 90s hip-hop and general hilarity en route to the festival grounds, Steph, Judith, Sam and I arrived in all of our Hillside-y glory late Friday afternoon, and readied ourselves for what promised to be adventures realized. Yes, it was muggy (understatement) and warm (understatement), but we didn't care. Sun hats were donned, sunscreen was applied and water was clutched - bring on the music, we were ready to take on the world.
But hold the phone: what you may not know is that in addition to my Radio Laurier correspondence skills, I was also covering the festival for AUX TV. And while I only did one day of full re-capping for the website (Saturday and Sunday were set aside for show reviews), Friday has been documented in all its blog splendor, so instead of re-writing each and every delightful memory, I will simply attach a link and my love, then return shortly to begin my full day two Hillside reflection.
Now get your read on, and I'll meet you back here in two shakes of a lamb's tail.
