What We Learned This Week
Before I say anything Across the Pond related, can we please talk about how kick ass the site looks and how hard Morgan (the genius responsible for all of this) rocks? Seriously - it's gotten super professional up in here, and I'm now as proud as a mother watching her valedictorian teenager deliver a speech. (Because frankly, that is pride.)
Man. So peruse the site, check it out and revel in the wonder that is now Radio Laurier - I know I will (and have been).
So needless to say, it's been an eventful week. I co-hosted the Morning Show with the lovely Judith Ellen Brunton on Tuesday and Wednesday, and of course, rocked out via the radio waves solo on Tuesday from noon to 2pm. As promised, I won't be delivering the playlist every week, but I will be updating you very the blogosphere in order to keep you all enamored and interested. (Is it working?)
This week's broadcast didn't have so much of a theme as it did copious amounts of banter, and for those of you that tuned in, yes, I did pick up hotdogs and buns on the way home, and no, nobody brought me bacon. (Also, sincere apologies to anyone that picked up the sounds of my grumbling stomach - what can I tell you, I promise professionalism every week, and oh boy - do I deliver.) Yes, I got a little needy by the end and asked for more joiners of the official Facebook page (I wasn't popular in high school, so I'd like to be the cheerleading captain equivalent in my mid-20's on the radio waves - ha), and I also dropped the Twitter-bomb a couple of times as well. (Question: is my self worth defined by Internet support? Answer: Maybe. But not in the Craigslist way. But in reality? . . . Nah.)
And then I played some sweet tunes.
Speaking of which, I'd be more than happy to take requests (provided they fit the UK bill), and if you're lucky, I may even mention your name during the broadcast. (Fact: It's basically a guarantee that I'll mention your name during the broadcast. Usually without any reason at all - I just don't have any other incentive.) So shoot me requests, pals! It'll be amazing.
So what did we learn from today's blog report?
1) Morgan is the man.
2) I ate hot dogs for lunch on Tuesday.
3) I want you to join my Across the Pond With Anne Facebook page.
4) Then I want you to follow me on Twitter.
5) Requests are welcome - nay, encouraged.
I love you all, and I'll catch you next week!
xx
