February always finds you folding…

…but it’s not so bad yet, is it? A little cold, maybe. That and apparently the business across the street has cut a deal wherein at the first sign of snow (be it 3pm or, say, 3am) a man with a little front end loader shows up and rips around their parking lot for a half hour banging his front bucket on the ground as he goes. Such is the life of a freelance snow removalist, I guess.
Aside from whinging about sleep interrupters, I also wanted to offer up a pre-Mixtape blog this week, as I feel this Thursday’s show is going to be good. It’s mostly just speculation so far, but I’ve heard some talk that it could be the best Mixtape yet. Seems to be the word on the street.
Why am I so excited about this week? Well, because it’s the Country and Western mixtape, and also because cowboys are awesome, and they don’t get enough credit. While zombies and ninjas battle it out in the spotlight atop the internet culture/meme bandwagon, I think cowboys are easily in the second teir, somewhere with the pirates. And cowboys can wipe the walls with pirates anyday. Also, cowboy music beats any bizarre amalgamation of pirate/zombie/ninja music (terrifying!) hands down. So on Thursday I pay tribute to the singing cowboys and cowgirls who represent The Big Country so well.
I don’t want to give anything away, but if you tune in on Thursday you might hear something from this guy, or perhaps even this guy. And no country mixtape would be complete without a visit from The King.
So I hope you’ll tune in this week for a night of enjoyable country music. It’s only a few days away. Although I for one might be grateful for a Bill Murray-esque Groundhog Day experience, as I have alot of reading to do and not enough mortal days to do it in. Also, I’ve always wanted to play the piano really well. That was what that movie was about, right? Bill Murray finally sees the true importance of being really good at piano? That’s what I took out of it, anyways.
Thursday night at 9! Country mixtape! Saddle up, there’s no recourse, it’s “High Ho Silver!”
Signed,
Ian.

    Yeehaw!
I would sell my soul for a groundhog day right about now as well. What is up with time and it being so fleeting?
Anyways, i’m stoked for the mixtape this week. I’m a wee bit homesick for the big sky of Alberta. Comfort me.

    I disagree.
    Cowboys have guns.
    Pirates have booty.
