Alive at Nine is a variety show broadcast weekday mornings from 9-12, produced and hosted by a crack team of volunteers who always keep it interesting and humorous! Alive at Nine features music, local news and weather, and a whole assortment of content catered to the interests of the Laurier Community. Any day on Alive at Nine you will hear current events, daily Laurier updates, FML and overhead segments, birthdays, jokes, horoscopes, all alongside sweet tunes.

Hits And Hidden Gems

If you are looking for new music mixed in with your favourites, you’re in the right place. If you know all the songs to your favourite band and get mad when the other stations overplay that one mediocre song by them, this is your home. If you just want to hear that great song you haven’t heard in ages, read on. If you are one of those people who loves everything from reggae to rock, hip hop to umm… more rock, you’ve found your show. So whatever you do, don’t click your mouse on that really enticing advertisement down the side of your screen that wants you to shoot at an ipod or win a dream trip…keep reading.

The concept is simple. Double shots of your favourite rock and hip hop artists, all day. All the time. (But only during my two hour show, once a week) Every double shot will have two songs (redundant, I know): the first song is that song you’ve heard on the radio dozens of times, and probably love but is a little overplayed, and the second is a lesser known song by the same artist. Hence the name: the Hits, and the Hidden Jems. That way you can hear those songs that f$*%ing rock, but for some reason just don’t make it onto the other stations. Also, it’s a great way to find new music by artist you probably already know, and for me to play just about anything I want. (please Radio Laurier management?)

Mind, Body & Soul

What is Mind, Body & Soul? Mind, Body & Soul is a show that provides the best songs to touch your heart and stir up your mind. A show that has been on air for 4 years but never gets boring or old. This show is created to encourage you to live, to laugh and to love, to be honest, be open, and to be vulnerable sometimes. With a soulful vibe, this show touches those spots in your heart that you didn’t know still existed. Each Show, Lady I.C.E opens the air for her listeners to learn something new and encouraging and welcomes her listeners to share their experiences with her and each other. While producing a music-based show, Lady ICE connects her listener stories into each hour, giving support, advice and encouragement.

Hawk Talk

Host: Terry Eckemier

“Hawk Tawk” is a show about Laurier and its surrounding area. “Hawk Tawk” will showcase the people, places, events, food and drink and other aspect of the local area. Student life and living at Laurier as well as the issues that concern us will highlight the show. Things to expect are interviews with professors, clubs presidents, Deans, Athletes, weekly health and living segments, Reslife tips, food and drink tips, reviews and opinions, and of course music. So tune in and get to know your Laurier better.
