The 8TH AND 9TH SHOW EH?!

Author: Travis Kingdon
Hey guys, sorry once again for the lack of blogness from the past couple of shows, I've been crazy busy, 6 courses and radio laurier will do that to you!

ANYWAYS!

Last week (March 24th) was our french week! We had a special guest DJ (Brigette from Operation Breakthrough) to pronounce the names of some bands.  We heard bands like La petite rose, Duchess Says (CHECK THAT BAND OUT!), and DJ Champion.  The Week before that was ST Pattys day, which I hope you all enjoyed, but unfortunately, my pre-recorded show didn't play, but it had lots of great Canadian Irish music, I assure you....

But, heres some cool links...

The Sixth and SEVENTH SHOW

Author: Travis Kingdon
First off, sorry for the lack of blog-ness for the past couple weeks

Hope you all enjoyed your reading weeks.

The sixth show, was the CASBY week, Canadian Artists Selected By You!  A Show dedicated to the radio station "The Edge" and their yearly music awards.  We saw artists like Men Without Hats (FINALLY!), Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker (Check them out, and if you have a chance to see them live DO IT, you won't regret it!  and bands like Martha and the Muffins too!

The seventh show this week was the start of something somewhat different, instead of genre/theme based shows we switched over to a more regional approach to the show.  This week we focused on the prairie provinces, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.  We heard bands like Bachman Turner Overdrive, Our Mercury, and a band called Birds are dinosaurs, check them out, instrumental progressive, its really cool!

Also, check this out!

The FOURTH AND FIFTH SHOW!

Author: Travis Kingdon
Alright, sorry for the late-ness of this blog, midterms and other stuff has kept me chaotically busy.   Two weeks ago (Wed Feb 3rd) we had Canadian SKA/Reggae!  With acts such as Walk off the Earth, Messenjah, and The Johnstones!  Certainly some rockin' tunes there, I will be uploading the full setlist to my facebook page when I get around to making one.... Last week (Feb 10th) was the CASBY week, featuring everyone from The Parachute Club, to Men Without Hats, to Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker,  it was a solid show to enter reading week.   When we get back from reading week I'll be doing Canadian Music you've never heard of before!  Got a favorite less mainstream band? Got a friend who has a band? Mention them to me and I'll do my best to get them on the playlist

But until then, have a solid reading week!
